A personal view of my interaction with the National Railway Museum. A huge collection was purchased by the museum from us in 2009. Their main outstation at Shildon happens to be much nearer home. 35 miles rather than 100.

At Locomotion Shildon's Autumn Gala Today
Steve
Davies on the NRM Locomotion PA at Shildon's gala this AM: the two
Gresley A4s leave Halifax on the 25th September, that's this Tuesday,
for the UK. He was being very affable, scheduled to drive SLS Orion and
cleaning the gents for the benefit of myself and others. The gala was
very busy, six engines in steam, traders I spoke to happy. Outside stars
included the two Y7s together (again) and in steam. Beamish's restored
Lewin. North Staffs 0-6-02T. Everything looked good.
I am an author, curator, dealer interested in the ephemera of travel and transport amongst many other enthusiasms. I am married to a wonderful wife and mother and our daughter Clare is already a National Trust life member. We hold or link to some exceptional resources as the main website shows. We do a lot of work with on-line auctions. Our interests are very eclectic as the range of blogs that we follow shows. Because we follow a blog do not immediately assume it is a 100% endorsement!
